Jerry, why are you promoting this tripe? Will the toy change the world? Don't you support truth in advertising?

Is this a moderated thread and a marketing effort supported by Segway Company? Why isn't talking about the limitations of this toy welcome on this thread?

Look at this ludicrous claim from their web site:

Emergency Services

"In densely populated areas, Segway HT will help police and emergency medical technicians respond more rapidly to accidents and emergencies, allowing them to be on the scene giving aid instead of stuck in traffic. In addition, Segway HT will make law enforcement officers more approachable than they are from behind a closed car window, atop a horse, or even a bike, bringing them closer to the communities they serve."
segway.com

Where will a police officer carry his tools for working an accident scene riot control?

Don't they have any idea of the sheer volume & weight of equipment needed for an EMT to do their job? Where they intend the patient be hauled?

Just checking back in.
Did anyone here buy - or become a dealer of these multi thousand dollar toys?

How has it worked out?

Still own it? If not why and how did the used item sell(trade-in?) and how well did it retain value?

Glad 2 see new XT model? Seems a sound addition to line. Is this the company admitting that 1st model was far from perfect for every application?

How about safety issues? Seems a shame company still claims units are "transportation", But does not include lights - or even mounting brackets - as STANDARD!!! Could any other "transportation" company could get away with marketing such a safety disaster in the making?
