England and the US went through bitter wars in the 1700s and early 1800s and are now close friends. The US and Germany went through bitter wars twice in the last century, and are now good friends. The US and Japan went through a bitter war and are now good friends. I have had two cases of clients who got divorced, went throught the whole thing, realized it was a mistake, and got remarried. And a third ex-couple now living together and thinking of remarrying. No isn't forever.
