1.5 * sum = 1.5^2 + 1.5^3 + 1.5^4 + .... = sum - 1.5
hence sum/(1.5*sum)=(1.5+1.5*sum)/(1.5*sum)=sum/(sum-1.5) :-))

I hope you realize that your equation is undefined, since your "sum" is a non-converging series. Therefore, sum/(1.5*sum) does not equal to 1 (it doesn't even equal anything).

Simple Proof:

sum/(sum-1.5) ?= 1
sum ?= sum-1.5
0 != -1.5
And this is true, even if "sum" diverges towards infinity.

And you don't even need your transform to solve it.
sum/(1.5*sum) ?=1
sum ?= 1.5*sum
1 != 1.5
