Assuming the stock market anticipates the economy by anywhere from three to six months, it is not unrealistic to assume a recovery could be well underway by May. So much cheap money available. If the consumer starts "feeling better" because of this market run, for instance, more Christmas buying could ensue....etc., etc.

Not saying it will happen, but it is not an impossible sceanario that we see solid economic improvement in key sectors by Spring. If it happens, hindsight to a 2000 comp. in December won't look too looney.

There's that spring time frame for a decline again.

I think it would compound your current mistakes to bet that way.

Softechness, Naz 1100? April/May... Not likely. 11,000 looking more likely at this rate, <g>

Softechie: Your NAZ 1,100 retest is not only out of line but also ridiculous. There is noboday except die-hard bear would believe that retest #. I hope that your action will follow your words by staying short until NAZ retest 1,100. Care to make a public record in this thread that you would stay short till your predicted NAZ 1100 retest?

I don't know about the exact timeframe, but I think the comp will hit 1100 sometime next year. I remember all the folks saying it would NEVER go below 2500, then 2000, then 1500. It's just a matter of returning back to the trendline and historical valuations. Things always do. I say comp 900 before it's done.
