Good ol' unbiased <g> Dan Rather.... He once said: I do not think Bill Clinton is a liar, but even if he were, he would still be an honorable man. Huh?!

I was looking forward to reading Goldberg's book. I saw him on CNN this ayem with our gal Paula and Howard Kurtz where he backpedaled on some of his more colorful statements, the ones getting the headlines.

After having read the book, Kurtz wrote an article in the Post in which he said that the book wasn't very analytical, mostly one liners and anecdotes. That's too bad. I was looking forward to something thoughtful on the subject. I'm getting tired of outrage. I want analysis.

FWIW, an update to my little experiment. I dropped Fox as my primary news source on 9/11. MSNBC and CNBC had dramatically more professional and comprehensive coverage of those events. Now I've settled in with Paula in the morning and Fox at dinner. When politics begins to take up more air time, I'll spend some more time with Fox because they bring something different to the table. For other news, they're bench players. IMO.
