"Margin improvement along with moderate growth across our various operating divisions should help drive EPS growth of 10 percent next year. With the expectation for gradual economic improvement in 2002, we believe top line revenue should grow around 5 percent," said management... Assuming company meets the current Multex FY01 (Dec) consensus of $0.92, 10% EPS growth in 2002 would put FY02 (Dec) earnings at about $1.01, below current FY02 consensus estimate of $1.06.

EXFO -1.70 getting hammered on the company's first quarter earnings warning. CCUR +1.41 bidding higher on reports of a notable purchase from Time Warner Cable's central Florida division.

16:58 ET Storage Tech (STK) 22.75: Co announced it has completed initial integration and testing between its open system tape libraries and MCDT's Fabric switches and Director products; allows open system tape libraries to be easily deployed in any SAN environment and to be connected to fibre fabric networks.

16:57 ET XM Satellite (XMSR) 12.75 +1.69: Stock falls to $11.69 in after hours trading. Rumor that company priced a rather sizeable spot secondary offering said to be weighing on the stock.

16:50 ET Thermo Elec (TMO) 23.37: Announced that their majority-owned subsidiary Spectra-Physics expects to record a pre-tax charge of between $28-$33 mln during the fourth quarter of 2001, as a result of the impairment of certain assets relating to its passive component telecommunications operations.

[Harry: Again supporting the weakness in component demand.]

16:35 ET Corel Corp (CORL) 2.50 +0.12: Company updates guidance for fiscal 2002; expects a net loss of between $0.20 and $0.27 per share versus the current analyst estimate for earnings of $0.06 per share; expects to report revenues in the range of $170 million and $180 million versus the current analyst estimate of $159 mln.

16:28 ET Elizabeth Arden (RDEN) 14.65: -- Update -- Stock down over 7% in after-hours trading, as company announced during its earnings conference call that it "is unable to reaffirm its guidance for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2002 and fiscal 2003".

16:19 ET Guess ? (GES) 6.95 +0.27: Reports comparable store sales for the October period declined 11.4%; comparable store sales for the company's full priced retail stores decreased 11.9%, and comparable store sales at the factory outlet stores decreased 10.3%.
