DuckeCrow:

I appreciate it if you would express your opinion on the Book of Hadith that is provided by The Muslim Students Association at USC composed of many reputable Islamic scholars and students. Please visit their site at usc.edu . I have found them to be a reputable Islamic organization, but just wanted to verify it with you.

If you do not find them (or their version of Book of hadith) valid, I appreciate it very much if you would point me to a link where I can find the translation of Book of Hadith (and preferably transalted by someone like Mr. Asad who is proficient both in English and Arabic).

Best Regards,

DukeCrow,

"You don't "get" any virgins. You are reunited with your spouse."

You should have said you get reunited with your spouses, right? Islam believes in men having up to four wives, right? There your wives, who are made virgins again, as you specifed.

"The Prophet (pbuh) never had 15 wives at one time. In fact, for most of his life he was married to only one woman (Khadija, mabpwh) There are many lies about the Prophet floating around and being circulated on the Internet. Their only purpose is to defame the Prophet."

I didn't get my information of his many wives from the internet! And he did not have 15 wives at one time, but altogether, over his lifetime! Do you believe he did not have many wives, many more than 4?

God Bless,
IGIT

DukeCrow,

Muhammad's wives
Source: Syed Abu Zafar Zain, The Prophet of Islam, the Ideal Husband (Lahore: Kazi Publications), pp. 10-12.

His marriages:

Sauda Bint Zama______________50______________Widow

Safia bint Hayi bin Akhtab___17______________Widow
Raihana bint umru bin hanafa_?_______________?
Maimuna bint harith__________36______________Widow

Syed Abu Zafar Zain is a Muslim defender. He also mention is his writing that he admits he had fifteen wives. There only 13 detailed above! Probably didn't know the information on the other two.

And one more thing. A couple of verses in the Qu'ran.

First one dictating how many wives a Muslim can have:

[an-Nisa' 4:3] And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans, marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three or four; and if ye fear that ye cannot do justice (to so many) then one (only) or (the captives) that your right hands possess. Thus it is more likely that ye will not do injustice.

And secondly, the verse allowing Muhammad, and only Muhammad to have more than four:

[al-Ahzab 33:50] O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war, and the daughters of thine uncle on the father's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the father's side, and the daughters of thine uncle on the mother's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the mother's side who emigrated with thee, and a believing woman if she give herself unto the Prophet and the Prophet desire to ask her in marriage - a privilege for thee only, not for the (rest of) believers - We are Aware of that which We enjoined upon them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess - that thou mayst be free from blame, for Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

If your interpretation of the virgins is correct, and the virgins in Paradise are converted wives back to virgin wives, normal Muslims would have four virgin wives in Paradise and Muhammad would have fifteen virgin wives, right?

God Bless,
