I think many of the analysts also fail to compare rates of increase with historical rates of increase in sales -- reports of profitability shouldn't be trusted at this pt, IMO. Instead they herald any positive increase in sales. I think it is telling that HD is slowing its growth -- contrary investor provides a very worthwhile read in this regard. My experience in the clothing sector -- just as a consumer -- is that the gimmicks employed really are giving consumers lower prices on a historical basis -- have the costs to produce dropped as much?? -- I doubt it.
