V1, M&A seems to be the in thing in biotech these days, and I'm getting the feeling that the 3 deals this week are just the tip of the iceberg. I think this is going to really start warming up the valuations of the potential targets of M&A due to the "buy on rumor" effect. Do I feel MOMENTUM investors flocking to bio????

Also, seems to me to be a traditional time of year for a biotech stock rally, before the 20th Annual JP Morgan (H&Q) Life Sciences conference January 7th-10th - the old "buy on rumor run up" that culminates in a big biotech drop as the conference ends due to the "sell on news trend" (a great time for institutional investors to sell off into a higher voluem market).

My gut feeling is to be greedy and take some risks and use up all our buying power NOW. We could add about 30% or so to each of our current positions, or pick some that we think will get a good rumor runup, and do the old pump and dump in the beginning of January just before our usual mid-January valuation slam. I know, we like to be long term investors, but sometimes my greedy side takes over @;-)

Now, does MLNM get a rebound on this merger as it is looked at in more detail, or are they seen to be over-reaching? Whattchay'all Think???
