I think I understand your words, but the broad brush of typical liberal implying cowardly could be applied to what seems like the vocal ones seen publicly. I do believe there are many who would call themselves liberal and are appalled by the ultimate cowardice shown and exposed by mr. bill.
I would call this very vocal and small group atypical liberals. The current leadership of the Democrat Party are atypical liberals.
