There was still usually a chess set in the mailbox room, but I used to play in the fireplace room on the other side of the central room. A couple of other sets floated around the coffee shop. By the way, they did a big remodeling. I don't like it.......

We had ratings. Your team and league needed to be registered with the USCF or whatever they called it back then. My specialty was trolley chess, the ability to finish a match before the trolley got to my stop! -gg-
