DuckeCrow:

IGIT has Very good points:

One must read the right versions of the Qu'ran, Hadith, companion guides, etc. and to do it most accurately in the native language of these writings, which is Arabic.

So to lay it out, here are the tasks:

1) One must make sure (s)he has the correct version of Quran and Hadith. But how can one verify that (s)he has the correct versions?

2) One must then learn and become proficient in the Arabic language to truly understand the writings of these books.

3) One must also rely on other resources (to be determined and also verified to be valid) in order to understand Quran and therefore Islam fully.

DuckeCrow, are you implying that the 1.2 billion followers of Islam have done all these? And if not then should they not be considered Muslims because they are blindly following something they do not fully understand and know much about?

Like IGIT said, it is a bit unfair of God to make it so difficult for us to understand what he/she meant to say. But that is just my opinion which comes from my own beliefs that are far less complicated to understand.

Regards,

- Addi

That's because the Qur'an was written by a man who was not under the influence of the Angel Gabriel, but was very astutely reasoning that the best way to expand his kingdom was to establish something larger than himself. So he created a religion whose sole purpose was to expand his own legacy. He did a great job of it. Unfortunately, he may well have contributed to the damnation of a billion souls in the process, not to mention causing the suffering and misery of many millions more. His legacy now is a backward faith and the stagnation of a once great people.

Jesus warned of many false prophets that would come after him, who would be responsible for luring many away from the right path to salvation.
