Now firms are talking down stocks? LOL!!

Cisco Systems (CSCO) 21.80 +0.26: -- Before Open -- Following CSCO's analyst meeting, Merrill Lynch and Needham offered differing takes on CSCO's stock. Merrill believes investors may understate the amount of innovation CSCO shows in web applications and business process redevelopment; rates CSCO a "fast moving, aggressive tech company that can show strong financial performance;" believes the company is well positioned and - with an economic upturn - can show sustained earnings power. Needham views the sharp mark-up in tech equities [in part a reaction to CSCO's company news] as a stark contrast to the fact that mgmt declined to provide an update on the quarter; with the share price 23% above Needham's target, the firm maintains their Hold rating and would seek more attractive price points for entry.
