Hi Mike. Spot on. PMed this to a friend tonight. <spooked by the repeating episodes of severe weakness I'm seeing in the treasury and hi grade bond markets in recent weeks. First time they were hit (almost 2 weeks ago) was willing to let it go as an aberation. But subsequent repetitions have convinced me it's not. And the weakness has been getting worse. That's forced me to begin rethinking my strategy. It's looking more and more like there's a storm coming in the US dollar. Posted months ago as did Slider recently that the 1st warning of that always come in the Treasury markets. Then spreads to the dollar along with the rest of he fixed income markets. And finally to the stock market which usually suffers major meltdowns from this kind of domino sequence. I'm very unhappy about this. Wanted very much to hold those nice medium grade preferreds and the APJ Jr Debenture. But capital preservation is paramount with this part of my net worth and simply cannot fail to take decisive evasive moves to protect myself. Starting about a week ago sold all Penelec PR, all Farmers Insur PR yesterday, and all APJ Debs today. Tried to get filled on another sale today but missed. Sold all my beloved VSNX last week for same reason. Just less exposure to $ based credit instruments is the better part of valor till me concerned are either vindicated or proven unfounded. Till then am playing it safe by raising a lot of cash to balance my holdings in the golds. Isopatch>
