Anti-Taliban fighters, armed with tanks, machineguns and rocket-propelled grenades, encountered stiff resistance from al-Qaeda fighters as they headed towards the base of the Tora Bora mountain. They received incoming small-arms fire.

US bombers struck Tora Bora in concert with the anti-Taliban fighters but Afghan commanders insisted they wanted to take on the Arabs themselves without involving the US ground forces to flush out the enemy from their hideout.

Mullah Omar is not included in Karzai's amnesty

One can only hope so Ike; if Karzai believes he can double cross and make fools of Bush and Rumsfeld, he'll soon find himself beneath a 2,000 lb bomb.

Omar is a coward, begging for his life; he should at least go out as a man of his word. I'm beginning to believe that nobody over there has the courage of their convictions, deranged or not !
