Wanna, the one CC question/answer I feel not so sure about was:

Hans Mosesmann: 0.13 crossover? Andy, no change, first or second quarter, in a chart we don't get to see. Again, on track.

This was about when 0.13 would cross over 0.18 in total chips volume I assume. Q1 or Q2 sounds too early to me right off the top. Have any feel for that, or did you get it? Of course, there's always the replay.

Tony

wbmw,

- Cost savings question: why doesn't .13u appear to have much cost savings by the end of 2002? Answer is that transition to larger Pentium 4 die almost cancels out the benefit of .13u manufacturing.

There was an argument here about Intel's investment so much $$$ in .13u capacity. The Intel side said "we will bury you" with this $$$ and capacity (as usual).

I said that the spending is the penalty for inefficiency of the P4 design.

- 300mm wafers start production next quarter.

This is the nail in the coffin. It appears that P4 is yielding better than Athlon when both are on .18u and the conversion to .13u will mean a big advantage on a 200mm wafer and a huge advantage on a 300mm wafer.
