The climate created by the politically correct left, (Patricia Schroeder and company), which dominated the Clinton Administration, fostered the way the Tailhook incident was handled. Those who were in positions of leadership, were, for the most part, manipulated by the political powers that existed. The political pressure to "make those guilty pilots pay" was unrelenting by those aligned to the Clinton administration. Tailhook, the Clarence Thomas hearings, and Bob Packwood, demonstrated quite clearly that those on the left, Clinton included, were double-standard hypocrites of the first degree. If you think the "do as I say not as I do" leadership style of Clinton, fit in well with the military, and enhanced our military preparedness, then you're sadly mistaken. I personally know more than a dozen people who retired from active military service, primarily because of Clinton's lack of credibility and leadership. I also know three people who actually retired early just so they wouldn't have Clinton's name signed on their retirement certificate. The sea-change of morale boosting cheers which cascaded throughout the service when Bush won election was something to behold. No Rich, I seriously doubt you know more about the military then I do. You may possibly know as much, but that's about it.
