Like you said Chris, DVD is a booming industry, and the unfortunate events of Sept 11 and after have added fuel to the fire for home entertainment, people are not travelling as much now, but they still have the $$ to spend.

My dealers in Western Canada are telling me the same as it appears all consumer electronics retailers are saying these days.

dailynews.yahoo.com

"Weakest Nov. Retail Sales in Decade" but....

"Consumer electronics retailers reported stronger results, helped by DVD players, video games and digital cameras that are popular gift-giving items"

GGUY Good Guys: "Demand for digital technologies, which include high-definition televisions, DVD players, digital cameras and camcorders and digital satellite systems, remains strong and is expected to grow significantly during the holidays. Digital products accounted for 60 percent of the company's total product sales during the quarter."

BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. (BJ: NYSE): "General merchandise sales were strong in certain categories of electronics and home entertainment, including video game systems, DVD players and movies, videos, large-screen TV's, and home theatre systems"

Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY): "Consumer electronics also grew, led by increases in sales of digital televisions, digital cameras, home theater systems and DVD hardware"

Circuit City Stores Inc. (NYSE:CC): "....DVD players, digital cameras and other electronics have been popular gifts this holiday season" and "Double-digit sales increases in big-screen televisions, digital satellite systems, digital cameras, wireless phones, DVD software and video game hardware and software made up for weaker sales in personal computers, McCullough said."

"Leading retailers like Wal-Mart and Sears have also stated that home electronics are the hottest selling entertainment products this season, with DVD and videogame sales leading the pack."
