James, one thing about Cons. Conf. numbers, and Mich. Sent. numbers is, people often think and say one thing, and do another. No doubt, usually these numbers move the market, but only hard real economic data means anything, IMO.
CNBC cracks me up, they're telling everyone that the employment numbers are a lagging indicator. Well, I have to argue with them there, because the consumer makes up 2/3 of all economic activity here today, and these unemployed people are like lost consumers down the road, IMO.
And, then they tell everyone that the Sent. numbers are forward indicators, yeah OK, people feel better, now let's see them go out and spend.
I'll believe it after I see the hard numbers.
