please provide reasoning for your argument.

as i see it, of course they can spell trouble for 3G. most envisioned uses of high-speed wireless involve video transfer, which generally requires a user to be stationary to look at a screen. as in places such as airports and cafes where it is easy to set up 802.11b. just plug a card into a laptop, will travel. why waste money on 3G. lower-speed wireless data can be handled by 2.5G. the combo of 802.11b plus 2.5G should be cost-effective for many years to come imo.
