I would not excuse a so-called leader for doing something so monstrous as the interrment just because the public went along with it. The essence of leadership is the ability to get people to see where they are wrong when they are wrong.

FDR...was a great American President because the country had so much confidence in him and his policies.

He made a few mistakes. Like trying to stack the Supreme Court, by enlargening it and the Internment thing

But overall he was the right man at the right time.
