Bob,

I do not know for sure but, my limited understanding is that there are two classes of "partners" in this case.

Class 1) Partners who are effectively customers of energy for sale or delivery via a direct contractual relation with Enron. I believe that is how they will be treated under any reorganization.

Class 2) Partners who used Enron's trading systems and used Enron as a trusted agent to broker a swap transaction of various sorts (energy, currency, metals, etc.). In its role as trusted agent, I am not clear what Enron has pledged or what the status of these claims are relative to others. I would guess that these clients might try to elevate the status of their claim, if possible.

I do not believe that either of these class of claims currently shows up as a liability in Enron's initial filing. But, I am not an expert and have not investigated this matter in detail. So, take this rambling with a big grain of salt.

Regards,

Dave
