Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinions, but I'm not sure what "You can cite all the lefty strain at a nat loons." means.... I can't exactly parse your statement... It does not 'grok'. And anyway, as I pointed out in my original post, popularity does not guarantee the 'correctness' of an action. Popularity is only a snapshot of a moving picture (remember the first President Bush's 90%+ popularity numbers?) I happen to be a conservative (small government, low tax, big on liberty), what used to be know as a "true conservative" back in the '60s, and what may more appropriately be called a "libertarian" now. I happen to believe that the "best government is the government that governs least", and that trashing the Constitution is a poor way to secure our future. The Republicans used to stand for that but, except for a few brave souls, they mostly only spout the rhetoric these days. Government powers and government size always seem to increase, and the private sector and the ability of private citizens to live their lives unencumbered by government regulation, proportionately decreases....
