Did you even bother to read Bob's original response to news of Ellen's death? It seemed to me to be rather gracious. While I was a long time supporter of OVIS/RMIL I was lucky enough to get out with a slight profit about a week before the halt. It is apparent to me that the whole thing was one big scam. While I never agreed with the tactics of those who were negative about the company, much of what they said turned out to be true.

If you think that somehow the "bashers" are the ones to blame for what happened, then you are deceiving yourself. I believe that most of us were acting in good faith, but I would be very surprised if some who were touting the stock were not in some way involved in the misdeeds. Of course, the main culprits were Morgan and Breton and if you want to place blame, lay it at their feet.

Joseph, I spent about two years reading Ellen's posts yet I don't have a clue who she really was, where she lived, or what she did when not posting on SI. Posting under an alias, as Ellen did, is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it gives you a certain amount of freedom to do or say things you might not otherwise have done or said, or to perhaps reinvent yourself the way you wish you really were. But, on the other hand, it tends to keep others from treating you like a real person as opposed to a literary character. Heck, given that Joseph Krinsky is an alias, how can we really be sure "his" thoughts are really "your" thoughts? Some might argue that we never really know the real anyone anyhow, but the point is at least we know that whatever personna they put out to the world is not something they can erase by simply changing their name. It's this accountability that humanizes people (for better or worse). This is all a long-winded way to say that while we might all mourn the person who used the name Ellen here on SI, some obviously feel the literary Ellen had some shortcomings.

- Jeff

dirtbags like you, monksi, bob, and reese,

felt it necessary to avoid just paying respects, but felt that it was important to take the opportunity to toot your own horns

This coming from the person who had the unmitigated gall to send me the following PM in response to my sincere comments about her?

Actually no one is really inerested in your long winded essay. All you should have written was the last sentence "Ellen, you were a good person. It was a sincere pleasure to have made your acquaintance".

and you should have left off the "SI Bob".. you're not si bob anymore except in your own mind. you dolt.

You definitely take the proverbial cake.
