Jordanian king expresses deep concerns for Powell

The Jordanian King Abdullah II has expressed his " deep concerns" over the Israeli attacks against the Palestinians. This was expressed in a telephone call with the UN secretary of state Colin Powell and with the Turkish President Ahmad Necdet Cazar.

The Jordanian news agency quoted a Jordanian official source that the King expressed in a telephone call with Powell:" strong concern towards the Israeli military escalation against the Palestinians," stressing the importance of the continued American role in putting an end to the acts of violence and to resort to the " language of dialogue as the only way to solve suspending issues."

The Jordanian King also discussed the escalation of violence in the Palestinian territories with the Turkish President Ahmad Necdet Cazar in which the two leaders stressed the " need of work to intensify efforts to finding out an outlet for the escalated security condition in the Palestinian territories."
