And I was one to pooh pooh debt as a problem- especially as it related to the purported extreme levels of consumer debt. Yeah- one month this year consumer debt did expand at an annualized rate exceeding 10%- which prompted a 'new record' headline. Which was pretty bogus when examined in the context of the typical swings in consumer leverage.

It might turn out that corporate debt imploding becomes the catalyst that creates a problem in the household capital structure. Given a year has passed, the situation has evolved a bit. Maybe we've not crossed the brink yet. Perhaps hope should not be displaced by despair. WTFDIK?
