Most of my criticisms are hardly partisan. I liked Goldwater in his later years, JFK, thought Bush 1 would handle a war well (and he did, though he quit too soon), don't like Bush2 but didn't like Gore or Clinton either. And I think Ike was under-rated.

Most of Bush's people seem okay, too. I do not like Ashcroft's record, past or present. I remember COINTELPRO and would prefer not to rebuild it simply to give more power to Ashcroft and other petty tyrants.

At its core, that's the motivation behind 90% of the Presidents critics on this matter.

And you've checked with all 100% to make certain that 10% have better motives!! Please. These are serious issues about which folk can disagree but no one knows what the motives are of any of the actors--critics or defenders. Only their public arguments.
