Following intelligence reports from local and foreign agencies Islamabad Friday ordered the deployment of more military troops to tribal areas bordering eastern provinces of Afghanistan.Pakistan Friday afternoon moved more military troops close to its border with Afghanistan in Parachinar, Kurram Agency, following intelligence reports that Osama bin Laden, prime suspect of September 11 terror attacks, is heading towards Pakistani border districts along with several dozens diehard al-Qaeda fighters. The troops have been moved from Peshawar, Chitral, and Swat bases. Immediately after receiving the information Pakistan increased air and ground surveillance keeping a close watch on the border-belt within approachable distance of Tora Bora. Absar Alam reports . Reports reaching Pakistan further confirmed that the anti-Taliban Afghan forces have also arrested an undisclosed number of Arab women and children who might be related to the al-Qaeda members. The noose getting tighter, the cowards have no place to hide, “We are not ruling out the possibility of bin Laden moving towards Parachinar,” senior official sources disclosed to The Nation Friday. Pakistan’s Kurram Agency borders Nangarhar province of Afghanistan and Tora Bora is situated quite near the Pakistani border town of Parachinar. Intelligence gathering in the area is being conducted through satellites, low-flying helicopters, and local ground sources as well. “Night vision equipment is also being used to monitor the border-belt,” the sources said. A group of about 70 Arab fighters, who were holed up in Tora Bora cave complex, left their hideouts early Friday morning for eastern towns as anti-Taliban Afghan forces, under the cover of intense US bombing by B-52 warplanes, marched towards the heavily fortified hideouts. As pressure mounted on the al-Qaeda Tora Bora cave forts, another group of more than 1,200 fighters left its base and headed for the eastern districts bordering with Pakistan. “The advance of the second group towards Pakistani border strengthened the suspicion of bin Laden’s movement,” the sources said adding Pakistan immediately beefed up surveillance and border security. Both these groups had converged at Malva and Spin Shikargah towns of Afghanistan which are adjacent to Pakistani town of Parachinar. Pakistan has also strengthened its border security at Dalbandin, Chaman, and other parts of Balochistan bordering Kandahar province of Afghanistan to check any infiltration of fleeing Taliban soldiers. The pied piper as Ikram Sehgul calls him. 'Osama bin Laden finding cover in some hole, probably the Tora Bora cave complex near Jalalabad, has left in wake dead and dying strewn across the Afghan countryside. The consequences of his many deeds, viz (1) distorting the interpretation of Islam and introducing new violence (2) leading Talebin fools as if they were into collective suicide in militarily opposing the mightiest and strongest nation on earth. For the sake of his own hide, Osama sacrificed not only his trusting hosts but those from foreign lands who believed his spiel, a latter day "Pied Piper" leading a naive and gullible people down the one-way road to death and destruction.
