In looking over todays news I think I could be sorry. I may do something like pick up Apr 02 27.5 calls(AMDDY). It'll depend on my mood & what I read over the weekend. TGPTNDR, makes sense.....I had wondered why you had sold stocks that had just broken out.....not that there is a guarantee that they would run but in this environment it's very likely. BTW it makes sense to watch all the small contract manufacturers like SGMA.....I think they may all break out due to INTC's and AMD's talk of a good quarter. Another stock worth looking at due to the PC upturn and one that I've mentioned before is WDC. The sucker has $2 billion in revenue but is just now becoming profitable after years of hell. The key on this one is margins. If they can continue to improve margins, WDC could generate big profits quickly......it depends how much capacity the current industry wide consolidation takes off the market and how much XP business they get from MSFT. I listened to the latest CC and the CEO and his team sound pretty impressive. FWIW.My basic attitude toward the market remains that we're in a downtrend. The 9-11 caused a big dip buying opportunity we've now recovered from. Actually, from a technicians point of view, most downtrend lines have been broken but I understand what you mean. Its a hard one.........you don't want to get screwed like last year but you can't afford to miss the upturn if this is what we are seeing. I am playing it like we are coming out of recession but at the first sign of trouble, I am prepared to be out the door.........with my money. ;~)) If the downtrend remains, as I believe, the next move is down. Semis are expensive. If we're not on the cusp of recovery next year is going to be nasty for INTC and AMD stock prices, IMO. Most of tech is expensive. Everyone is afraid to miss the next big move up......greed is an incredibly motivating factor where people will take on risk at absurd levels. If I'm wrong the semis may be a good buy. I have bought a little in case you are wrong. However, I missed this move by AMD which p*sses me off. My explanation is a twist on an old saying....."you can't see the tree for the forest"! ;~))It's cheaper to lose opportunity than money, IMO. Better words were never spoken. ted
