Perhaps they won't get such a significant presence, as they did in Afghanistan, but Al Qaeda is already in over 40 countries throughout the world. It is going to take a long time to be free from their brand of terrorism, if ever!

Bin laden took up the Palestinian cause, while he was dodging bombs in Afghanistan. He always followed through with his threats. You can be sure that they will try to link up with Hamass and the other terrorist portions of the Palestinian government.

Personally, I've felt that members of Al Qaeda have been in the Palestinian territories, and influenced operations there for quite a while. I'm also fairly sure that Arafat knew about the attack against the US, on Sept 11th, a long time before the attack.
