Global Consciousness Project.... >>One of the real differences between eastern and western tradition seems to be that the east provides this vast storehouse of "right brain" perception while the west provides the bulk of the "left brain" analysis and integration which transforms these perceptions into technology. The east has known this stuff for millennia and has been content to simply "enjoy the show". The west is far too restless for that. The result has been initiatives like the Global Consciousness Project (see noosphere.princeton.edu for details) which is documenting the hard evidence that the western mind demands. I particularly recommend their recent analysis of the 9/11 impact on global consciousness.>> I, too, recommend this work which Princeton Univ. is heading up. The evidence for the case for the existence of a "Global - perhaps they adapt the term "Universal" someday - Consciousness" in the days before/after 911 is absolutely stunningly beautiful and mindblowing depending on which side of the "belief fence" we find ourselves behind.
