I've been back on the Tug Boat for a while now and enjoying
it too. So I haven't been trading as much or keeping
my usual eye on the market. Just sort of winging it.

Like most I took a good size hit in September but had
enough cash to buy some more and all in all I'm up 50%
from my September low. I only have 8 long positions
3 of which are bull option spreads on the QQQ.

In the last 3 weeks I started hedging off those longs
using the USPIX and for the most part have stood
still I added some to the short fund last Thursday
so I'm overall just a tad more short than long.

If and when I close the short fund side I'll wind up
about 40% stocks 40% ( old bonds ) and 20% cash
Taht USPIX is 2x short so I can hedge with it and
not use a lot of cash to do so.
While it's my smallest market position the drop today
helped my overall position more than hurting it.
-------
With the boat work and me dabbing in some local
real estate I feel I'm going to slowly be
getting out of the stock market.
My dead line is 2004 ( if not before )
Any real strong run up and I'll clear out
my longs sooner. I've concluded I can do as
good or better than the market just
flipping local real-estate.

I went to the Star City Casino in Sydney last night. Gaming tables packed with Chinese people... I wasn't tempted to spend any money, but got an idea of how things work. No-one seemed to be betting on the 1:1 or 1:2 bets. They just seemed to be scattering their bets all over the numbers and a lot keeping notes - maybe they think there is soem serial dependence in the numebrs coming up?
