I voted for Andre Marrou in 92.

I think he sells aluminum siding now.

He did everything he said he was going to do, which most politicians never do. He maintained a platform based on the goals he set forth in 92 and stayed with for all eight years, the record speaks for itself. The other to this day gives him no credit for the successes.

I think clifton did lots of good things while he was Pres. Some of it he was forced into (welfare reform, fiscal restraint), and others (NAFTA) he played politics with his own Party and got things done. Often he pissed off his own constituients ie, unions. I've asked Flappy about this and he has confirmed this. clifton played the middle in order to be pres when he is a flaming lib at heart. Good politician but a scummy man.
You're right about the Repubs regarding fiscal policy that's why I'm not a Pub. They pander for power just like them Dems. Personally I thnk both parties are selling us down the river. This last election gore scared the living crap out of me though. He wants to give everyone something and have future generations pay for it. Bush is not ideal but he was a clearly better choice than gore.
As a businessman I have to solve problems all the time. In fact I was delayed in replying to you because one of my employees is getting evicted from her apartment with her kids and she wanted to ask me for some help. gore wants to give everyone raises, health care, retirement. these things sound good to the masses and will always have mass appeal because most folks don't ever consider "where the money's gonna come from"? The Government, my greedy boss, the rich people. At the end of the day though these socalled solutions end up being the problem. Take minimum wqage, when I told one of my employees the minimum was goin up he told me, "Oh shit, that means all my costs will be going even more soon. These people know that for the little bit extra they get in their checks, the cost of living goes up even more, look at the real value of the dollar since 1940, it's worth .08 now. The relative standard of living is worse than in 1950 and the total tax bill (local, state, fed) is higher than in the history of the republic.

He came under personal attack before he was elected, and I saw the first slick willie golf balls sitting on republican co workers desks thirty days after he was elected. He was attacked unmercifully from the beginning to the end.

Just like Bush eh? Have you given Bush the kind of break you wanted the Pubs to give clifton? Have the Dems? Some even attack him and try to weaken him while we are at war. And regarding war, there are times when you are faced with people who will not stop and must BE STOPPED! The Japs and Germans to mane a couple. clifton tried to negotiate with Arafat for 8 friggin year and got his face pissed on by Terrorfat. hussein, bin Laden, all these hoser are evil and don't wanna talk to you, clifton, me. thay want us outta the way. this world will be safer in 5 years because many of these guys will be dead.

clkifton did not fail because he did not try, clifton failed because he was dealing with liars and did not have the balls to stand up to them.

PS, if bonny don't like my post, tell her to buzz off...
