I wonder which floors in the Library of Congress are cork? All the ones I can think of are stone. I will have to keep my eyes open next time I go.

We had a cork floor in the living room and hall of the house I grew up in. It was built by an architect for his own family. It was very warm, and quiet, but it was soft and did not seem durable to me.

We moved from that house to a bigger one that same architect built for his family, and then to a house my father and stepmother contracted themselves.

I got spoiled living in custom-built houses.
