You're certainly right, especially if one can coerce the subject into looking straight forward, e.g. by designating a chin rest. Then we have uniform views for comparison. I think the error rate could be reduced sharply by combining the face image and the fingerprint image(s) in the same data object. "Please rest your chin here and your right index finger there." I feel sure that this will come, in our lifetimes. Maybe this little company will be a gorilla if some of their algorithms are patentable.
