TXCC.....huge volume breakout Friday. Textbook ascending triangle breakout to the upside finally. Looking for $9-$10 target or key to where last triangle breakout failed.

Transwitch affirmed guidance on 11/19 and reduced 10% of their workforce.

Morning Tom, JDSU pushes out "their bottom" another 3 months and projects lackluster recovery. I'll think we'll be seeing more of these in the next few weeks ....

JDS Uniphase expects sales to fall up to 15 per cent in next quarter

OTTAWA, Dec 10, 2001 (The Canadian Press via COMTEX) -- Fibre-optics equipment maker JDS Uniphase Corp. warned Monday that its revenues will continue to fall in the January-to-March quarter, which it called "the low point in sales for the current downturn" in the telecom equipment industry.

The Canadian-U.S. company said it expects sales will drop by 10 to 15 per cent for its fiscal third quarter ending next March, from the current second quarter that ends Dec. 29.

"The company believes that the March quarter will represent the low point in sales for the current downturn, although the recovery rate is expected initially to be modest," JDS Uniphase said in a brief statement.

JDS Uniphase also reaffirmed earlier warnings that second quarter sales will be between 10 and 15 per cent below the $329 million US the company reported in the first fiscal quarter which ended in late September.

"This guidance reflects the company's current sales forecast which takes into account customer inventory levels and expected changes to such inventories, the rate of new product adoption, and other factors," the company said.

Based in Ottawa and San Jose, Calif., JDS Uniphase is one of the world's biggest makers of fibre-optic components used by companies such as Nortel Networks to build telecom networks for the Internet.
