My personal xbox story... my 8 year old son wants an xbox for Christmas. I spent all day yesterday trying to get one locally - the best I could do was maybe if I ordered and placed a deposit, I could get one next weekend. I found a couple of places on the net that claim to have some xbox bundles, but at $100 or more over the local price, so I think I will see if I score next weekend. There was a demo at most of the stores, I played the NFL game which is pretty addictive.
