<CNN is as free a press as can be imagined>???

I do not even have to imagine, I just need to turn on the "other country" TV.

C-SPAN, however, is free, especially from commercials, as long as they don't set up the cameras
in the wrong place and don't voice an opinion.

Additionally they do not need to beg for money all the time like PBS.

Ilmarinen

CNN is a true joke, although a serious joke.

I\ve always wondered why the CocaColas, GEs, etc and the local plywood store couldn't
print the news on the other side of their products??

CNN is as free a press as can be imagined

Considering its origin, one would expect more bias, but The Christian Science Monitor has, to me, been consistently the most objective in the print world. In the TV world, even PBS falls short.

Since much of the media world has narrow corporate sponsorship, the two leading independent print publications in the US seem to be the San Jose Mercury News and the St. Petersburg (FL) Times, per many media critics. But pure objectivity is virtually impossible.
