Another crazy ending for River Plate... This time against Chacarita Juniors. In a fast and hard disputed game River managed to come from behind 2 x 1 up until 4 minutes from the end, in spite of being one man down as a result of a red card to Maximiliano López ( an impressive 18 year old player who was a tad eager in defending the ball, kicking the Chacarita Juniors player too hard), and having missed a penalty shot early in the game by D'Alessandro. The equalizer goal from River came when Carlos Husein early in the second half, who stoped a rebound with his chest pushing the ball forward and as the ball bounced off the ground, he shot it with the outside of his left foot to send literarily a rocket away from Chacarita's goalie and into the net .... What appeared to be the winning goal by Eduardo Coudet, pushing the ball into the net, taking advantage of an error y the goalie Navarro-Montoya, turned to be not so as Chacarita never gave up. Everything looked as though it was a victory for the "porteños" (River Plate) and the manager started sending all the main players to rest giving the older and replacement players a chance to play for the last 11 minutes of the game. Until Ariel Rosada 4 minutes from the end decided to try a shot from 35 meters that was deflected by one of the River defenders and simply putting the ball out of reach of goalie Angel Comizzo. This leaves open the Argentinean championship still although River does look strong and will probably win it anyways... The game was fast and well played, but no doubt a disappointment for River... Final result: River Plate 2 x 2 Chacarita Juniors ________________________ Soon.... the big event will start.
