An all "free-thinking" society would not be problematic. You would know this, if you have been to a party of 20-40 "free-thinkers". The deference is =so refreshing=. You are never judged as far as your "commitment" to the "true religion", because every single person at one of these events is "backdropped" with the religions of our society, and every one just accepts everyone else on face value, regardless of how far removed from religion one has come. After all, most free-thinkers realize that religion persists, because it indeed can empower and fortify the success of people. They don't think people who believe are "stupid." They know people believe because they have found success while believing (like the Bakers, Falwell, just to name the famous and obvious) or it has allowed them to carry on in life, when nothing else would help them.

You confuse "free-thinking" with anarchy. However, the "golden rule" is so much the operating mode of people who are "free-thinkers" that things flow very smoothly. Deference and generosity, laughter and admiration were overflowing at this gathering, and the mood was highly uplifting.

Let me tell you, the "Holiday" party of free-thinkers I just went to was the most satisfying large gathering I ever went to.

Seek one out.
