Stevie,

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20011209/tc/tech_microsoft_x...

REDMOND (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) said on Sunday it has shipped 1.1 million units of its new video game console, the Xbox (news - web sites), to retailers, with at least 300,000 more to be shipped by the end of this month.

So if AMD had gotten the X-Box win, you guys would be asking AMD to not count the CPU sales for it, like Cubs fans throwing opposing hitters' home run balls back onto the field. Right.

RE:"The software giant, which has declined to say how many units of the Xbox have actually been sold since its Nov. 15 launch, has said it planned to ship between 1 million and 1.5 million units to North American retailers this calendar year."

I said 1.5 million so I wuz close. Rest assured, Intel will say they gained share this QTR and no analyst will ask about Xbox chips/market share at the CC.
The Analyst community will be baffled as to how AMD could sell a record number of chips in Q4 but Intel gained share. They will take it as the PC industry is booming!
Intel shares will soar! Maybe. (G)

Jim

1.4 Million P3s dumped at firesale prices.

If I claimed Intel made good money from those P3s you'd have no data whatsoever to disprove it. Likewise your claim that Intel dumped those P3s has no data to support it. You have no idea whatsoever what Intel makes from those P3s. You only have a sour grapes statement from a company that lies as easy as getting out of bed in the morning.

Here's a bit of data nobody here has considered. Intel won the xbox design because AMD wasn't willing to commit to keeping their .18u process running for 5 or more years. Intel gets a very good price for guaranteeing to keep .18u capacity online. Enough of this lowball price nonsense. Nobody would keep a fab online on the cheap. You Hemdroids don't have a clue what really happened.
