I wouldn't eat a ground hog. And I have never been able to cook venison well, either. But, during the years I hunted to feed local families, every deer dropped with a single hit from a 90 gr. Sierra HPBT moving around 3600 fps.

My dear departed Granny had a way with venison. But sadly none of us watched her close enough to absorb the methods.
