If home generators based on SOFC technology do become available in say 3 years, this could really put a dent in Calpines markets for generators. In fact they could virtually wipe out that market.

Stephen:

Queries:

1. Why does the article refer to Calpine as a private corporation?

2. Doesn't Calpine build gas fired turbines primarily? If so--it seems the citizens were misinformed about the impact on air quality. Don't think gas has particulate, but correct if wrong.

3. Actions by "greenies" like these will continue to keep prices up in Calif. methinks.
