In Illinois they are asking hunters to report any deer carcasses they find just in case. They haven't found any disease but they are being cautious none the same.

We're also supposed to report any dead crows so they can be tested for West Nile Virus.

When I was a kid tularemia in rabbits was a big deal. If the liver was spotted the rabbit was sick. When the farmers started using more chemicals all the rabbits had spotted livers and I wore rubber gloves when I cleaned them.
