Very interesting post, John

I don't think there's any doubt that every significant political actor in the Afghan story has their eyes on the oil prize. I don't think the oil story is the dominant story (as in the reason for the US Afghan actions), but it is, undoubtedly, among genuinely important ones.

I find it interesting how few reports one finds about it and how, when they are spotted, they are in places like the Wall Street Journal.
