It's a much better definition to say that a woman undergoes an abortion because she finds the prospect of giving birth a worse alternative. Once the right wing is out of the way on more conventional birth control and post sex controls such as Ru486 then I would expect the usage of conventional abortion for such purposes to drop dramaticly.
