No. Actually, I did not see Neo's point. Its why I asked him to clarify it. I can see how one's heritage might sway your view of events and that is what he was driving at.
I think that is a natural tendency of all humans. I don't think much of Helen Thomas but the quoted statements, while seeming to be exceptionally stupid to me, don't make her unAmerican in my opinion.

And, for the record, you paraphrased the AG's statement incorrectly.
