bmw <edited>
US role in the war was extremely important, my responce to Carl's post should not be taken out of the context.
US provided economic support for England and Russia right from the start. A lot of American young man died during the invasion helping Europe. The post war support etc
But US was not alone at that fight and it is not fair to give credit to US without giving credit to Brits, Australians, Canadians, Russians and many more... (no matter how superior that makes us feel)
<edited> allied forces defeated Germany rather than US alone
and Pearl Harbor probably delayed the invasion of Europe rather than accelerated it, IMHO
