"I wouldn't want to waste the money on a unit for my home, since it won't do me any good at work or on the road." Hardly a waste of money.. I have had mine for just under two years. I can sit out on my back patio and do research and print to my network printer. I have one computer that is my MP3 flie server that allows playback of MP3 files to any computer/laptop in the home. As far as a DVD-R drive goes.. It's a nice thing to have if you do a lot of video work.. I got mine when the G4 first came out with the SuperDrive about 9 months ago.. Getting decent DVD authoring software on the PC is still kind of hard! PCSTEL
