Huge bomb attack after bin Laden sighting
The Pentagon has confirmed a 15,000lbs "Daisy-cutter" bomb has been dropped at the Tora Bora cave complex, after a reported sighting of Osama bin Laden. US forces deployed the weapon, it's most powerful conventional bomb, due to claims senior al-Qaida leaders - including bin Laden - had been seen at a cave entrance.

Apparently they called out to OBL after the blast and he pretended not to hear them.

British soldier hurt by landmine

A British Royal Engineer has been injured after stepping on a landmine near the Bagram airbase in Afghanistan.

The soldier was taken to a US military hospital following the incident.

His condition is said to be stable.

The Ministry of Defence said he was working as a member of the explosive ordnance disposal unit.

It was deployed to Bagram last month as part of a 100-strong force of Royal Marines, Royal Engineers and Special Boat Service personnel.
